Unit was Hotel not Golf.

Yes, I was seriously wounded in the same booby trapped grenade explosion. I called out to him before he went down and watched the Medevac crew performing CPR on him as we flew to Danang. In the ER he lay by himself with no one working on him and I knew he was gone.  Both Doc Crutcher and myself, a battalion radio operator, were attached to Hotel Company CP from H&S. He was my trump partner and had been with us only a short time.  Another discrepancy is the wall has his KIA date as 24 June 1969. I’m confused and now questioning my own memory of the timeline. Also his location should be Go Noi Island, Quang Nam  not Quang Tri.

Friend, Fellow Corpsman

I served with Terry. we went to Hospital Corps School together at Great Lakes, IL. Then, we were at Camp LeJuene, NC for the Fleet Medical Service School (FMSS) in early '68. Terry was a great guy. a great friend and always, ALWAYS had a smile and a twinkle in his eyes. How do you memorialize someone so good? That is, how do you make any sense of it? I was in Nam the same time as Terry, different unit, when I heard about his death. Well Terry, anyone who knew you, loved you.

Regards brother. RIP. Bill

Old friend
Terry and I went to school together in Bloomington Illinois. We were in the same classes and had a great relationship. Went to sport events together, ate at Steak N' Shake allot, and just generally enjoyed each other's company. I did not get to know much about his family, but he came over to my house several times for touch football and basketball games. Terry was always a happy kind of guy who got along with everyone. I went to Vietnam in April '69 right after Terry went. My mother sent me the newspaper article about his death so soon after he arrived in country. I was stunned. The good did die young. He was a good man and would have had a happy and productive life. Like all the others, such a waste of such good people. I think of him often and wonder what would have been. Long may you always be remembered my friend. Peace to you.
