Allen Groshong, we called him Doc Allen.

He came to Fox Co. 2/1, at Con Thein in January of `68.

He was KIA saving my life at Khe Sanh April 8 `68.  I was

retired from the corps after spending 34 months in the hospital

as a result of my injuries from the day Allen saved my life.

I absolutely owe my life to him.

He was awarded the Silver Star that day, and the Navy dedicated

a new building to him at Newport News Va, his home town.

, NM87505Doc, I wonder if you know what high regard all of you corspmen are held in? You guys did a terrific job in that rotten place and many of you, including yourself, paid the ultimate price. All of you are heroes to me. So shipmate, rest easy and stand tall. You are remembered.
